The hottest new going-out haunt in Hackney27 February 2017
Live in East London? Love pizza, brunch and cocktails? (me too, why are we not friends?) Then let me introduce you to the newly opened Martello Hall, a rather lovely bar that used to be the notorious London Fields Pub. Situated on Mare Street (a short walk from my house – yay) and just around the corner from one of my favourite roads in all of London town, Broadway Market, it’s set to become a local go-to – that’s for sure.
From decent coffee to experimental cocktails, or fancy baked eggs to a delicious Sunday roast, this new Hackney-based eating and drinking establishment is a place you can definitely set up camp in. With hot desk options during the day (oh, that freelancer life), an on-site gin distillery and pizza being served with prosecco at 2 am in the morning I urge you East London local lot to get your butt down there and check it out.
We enjoyed gin cocktails and spicy tomato juice, whilst sampling their extensive range of wines on tap, I would personally recommend the Tempranillo, it was dreamy.
Soaking up the booze came in the form of mouth-watering buttermilk chicken fingers and a baked egg hash, I couldn't fault the food and can guarantee I'll be back for pizza. (most likely after drinking them dry of espresso martinis, of course!).
