The Sydney Diaries: Wellness Saunas and Rose Bay Beach

As you all know I am now blogging from across the ocean, my little old London-based blog has become a Sydney-based blog. Madness, right! Although this is where now I call home, I am still very much in tourist mode; from exploring new beaches, hunting down the best acai bowls or obsessing over Sydney sunsets, I am still getting my bearings. And let me tell you, it's been fun.

So, whilst I'm living it up in explorer mode, I wanted to document some of my favourite snippets along the way - enter, The Sydney Diaries. Once every one or two weeks I'm going to be sharing a few of my top things from this amazing city...

Sure, you've all heard of saunas, but have you ever heard of an infrared sauna? Nope, me neither. Until I won a competition on Instagram with Maroubra-based studio, Wildfire Wellness, that is. If you want to cleanse your mind and your body then this unique sauna concept and wellness centre is the place to do it. With massive health benefits, the detoxing factors of this new trend are mind blowing - from weight loss and anti-aging to immunity boosting, improved circulation and skin purification, you'll feel brand bloody new when you walk out.

Founded by two sisters, Caitlin and Larissa Stores, this toxin-releasing therapy is a great addition to a healthy lifestyle. I went along for my 45 minute session and loved it. You sweat like mad - you can burn up to 700 calories in one sitting FYI - and you leave feeling chilled and rejuvenated. Well worth a visit! Sweat out those toxins ladies, it's crazy how great you'll feel afterwards.

They also stock some gorgeous Australian-based brands in the studio too, from cool swim wear options from Salty Swimwear to natural off-duty style from Billie Mae and handmade cleansing oils from Bodhi Botanicals, these chic shopping options are a post sauna bonus!

Next up: Rose Bay Beach

Being hauled up on this secret harbour beach, hidden between Point Piper and Rose Bay Marinas, was the perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon. Eating sushi, gossiping with friends, sunbathing and swimming, all whilst taking in the breathtaking views of Darling Harbour was certainly a 'pinch me' moment.
