How to spend an autumn Saturday in Sydney

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, fresh weekends really are the one. Autumn has hit in Sydney yet it still feels like the tail-end of summer making it the perfect temperature for a 20km hike, which now, I am paying for with extremely sore legs. Worth it though, look at those views and that clear blue sky.

We set off in our hire car thanks to Car Next Door which is a great way to hire cars cheaply in the city and drove in high spirits to the very beautiful, Bundeena National Park. Let me repeat, the very beautiful, Bundeena National Park. We walked and talked and snapped away topping it all off with a touch of whale watching - a pretty major highlight of the day as it's quite early in the season to catch a glimpse of these stunning creatures, lucky old us, eh.

Got a free weekend? If so, I can't recommend this hike trail enough...

Top tips

Pack plenty of water, there are no taps on the walk track and it's thirsty work!

Take some food to snack on, there is a beautiful beach to stop and enjoy lunch on.

Wear comfortable shoes and clothes - active-wear all the way!

Take in the views, if you go around June or July apparently the whale watching is a lot more guaranteed!
